‘Burn After Reading’ Poster Evokes Hitchcock?

The design is a definite throwback to Saul Bass’ iconic poster for Hitchcock’s Vertigo right down to the lettering. It’s understated poetry in non-motion. The choice of stylistic inspiration is made all the more interesting given Burn’s decidedly comedic overtones – Vertigo was anything but – and how Bass’ style can be translated to disparate genres with equal affect.
