Before I ruin it with my verbal diarrhea, marvel at the new one-sheet for the Coen brothers’ latest Burn After Reading:
Hot damn that is a GREAT poster. They don’t make them like that anymore that’s for sure. The design is a definite throwback to Saul Bass’ iconic poster for Hitchcock’s Vertigo right down to the lettering. It’s understated poetry in non-motion. The choice of stylistic inspiration is made all the more interesting given Burn‘s decidedly comedic overtones – Vertigo was anything but – and how Bass’ style can be translated to disparate genres with equal effect. And you simply cannot beat that tagline!
