1. Tribeca in Qatar
Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF) today the team that will head up the inaugural 2009 Festival. Amanda Palmer (Executive Director) will lead the Festival and work with a team from Tribeca that includes Geoffrey Gilmore, Chief Creative Officer of Tribeca Enterprises, to shape the program. 2. Nicholas Winding Refn Hearts ….
October 2009 issue of American Cinematographer magazine this month: Features on Campion’s Bright Star and Larry Smith, BSC discusses the lush cinematography he realized for the brilliant Bronson.

3. Ang Lee Overload
The Film Society of Lincoln Center are presenting all of Ang Lee’s work from the 1st of August to the 11th: Brokeback Mountain, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Eat Drink Man Woman, Hulk, The Ice Storm, Lust, Caution, Pushing Hands, Ride with the Devil, Sense and Sensibility, The Wedding Banquet. 4. By Ang Lee’s Side
Venice invites Sandrine Bonnaire, Liliana Cavani, Joe Dante, Anurag Kashyap and Luciano Ligabu to join him on jury duty. 

5. Sweden over the U.S.
You, the Living by Roy Andersson (Film Forum) is definitely a better option on opening day Wednesday than the Sundance misfire Adam (Fox Searchlight).

6. The Sage continues  
Either Rachelle Lefrevre is looking to get away from the franchise, her agent isn’t doing their job right or the franchise is looking to get more clout in terms of a headliner cast with Bryce Dallas Howard taking over the bad girl role in Twilight Saga: Eclipse. (That’s part 3 folks). The red head switch is getting loads of feedback – see Variety’s coverage.

7. Charlize’s Back
The Burning Plain one sheet grabs from the film’s first sequence, and while we like a naked torso from Theron, we’ll point out the impressive perf from newbie Jennifer Lawrence.
