#67. Imogene

Director: Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini
Writer: Michelle Morgan
Producers: Alix Madigan, Celine Rattray, Trudie Styler
Distributor: Rights Available

The Gist: This centers on a moderately successful New York playwright who fakes a suicide attempt in order to win back her ex-boyfriend, only to be under the custory of her mother, a gambler…(more)

Cast: Kristen Wiig, Darren Criss, Matt Dillon, Annette Bening and Natasha Lyonne

List Worthy Reasons…: Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini have had a spotty track record (The Nanny Diaries and The Extra Man) since they first won over audiences with the creatively ambitious American Splendor, but they’ve managed to stay committed to the indie comedy sphere and with the brilliant Kristen Wiig toplining, we think this might just pay huge dividends.

Release Date/Status?: Currently in Post production, we think a TIFF selection is highly possible. White hot Wiig might draw plenty of early interest from distributors.
