Dekanalog Lands Fest Faves in “Streetwise”, “Anatolian Leopard” & Smoczynska’s “Fugue”

Like as if they were digging for that gem in a vinyl shop, Deadline reports that Dekanalog have lassoed three sturdy titles from film festival editions past. They nabbed the sophomore feature by Agnieszka Smoczynska in Fugue — the 2018 pick (which we’ve got to say remains her best work to date after having reviewed The Silent Twins just two weeks back) was a highlight at the Critics Week section that year. And speaking of Cannes, they grabbed the 2021 Un Certain Regard preemed Streetwise (Gaey Wa’r) by Jiazuo Na. Finally, they grabbed a solid directorial debut by Emre Kayiş in Anatolian Leopard – a TIFF selection for last year’s edition. We expect releases on all three features for ’22. Here are interviews we conducted with Smoczynska and Kayiş for these specific titles.
