A provocative new voice in British cinema, Luna Carmoon moved into feature films with a bang via Hoard (read review), her audacious debut starring Joseph Quinn and Hayley Squires premiered in the International Critics’ Week section of the 2023 Venice Film Festival. Not wasting much time putting her sophomore feature together, her latest was flying low on the radar. Including her short films of the past decade, her cinema is about the lingering scars of inherited trauma, memory and loss, working-class lives shaped by exclusion, and the marriage between desire and decay in sensory storytelling. Here is everything we know so far for … Luna Carmoon‘s To Make Ends Meat.

We imagine financing was only secured as late as 2025, with production scheduled to begin in early 2026, beginning around March in London and its surrounding areas.

This follows three women, all in debt to despicable men, their pasts, and each other. The women find themselves bargaining to survive in the only language these men seem to understand: consumption and violence.

Naomi Ackie, Alison Oliver, Éanna Hardwicke and Armande Boulanger star.

Producers Erebus Pictures’ Helen Simmons and Delaval Film’s Loran Dunn return to team with Carmoon. The great cinematographer Hélène Louvart joins the team here.

Since the film completed production back in April, we think they’ll be prepping for a launch at Cannes in 2027. Goodfellas are handling sales.
