Safety Not Guaranteed… Radius-TWC Lands Patrick Brice’s “Creep” & Makes Two More Scary Movies

Published on

Sort of what Dimension Films represented back in the heyday of Miramax era, Tom Quinn and Jason Janego are proving that RADiUS-TWC is a smart pick-up, fully fledged label that is in it for the long-term and a partnership with Jason Blum is a nice dice roll. Radius, the Duplass Bros. and Blumhouse Prods. are teaming on not one film, but a trilogy of films surrounding the recently SXSW preemed Creep by helmer Patrick Brice. A theatrical release is expected at the end of the year and look for this to hit fantasy fests in the summer.

Gist: Low on cash and full of naiveté he drives to a cabin in a remote mountain town where he meets Josef (Duplass), his cinematic subject for the day. Josef is sincere and the project seems heartfelt, so Aaron begins to film. But as the day goes on, it becomes clear that Josef may not be who he says.

Worth Noting: Before producing the found-footage films, Blum produced indie items such as The Darwin Awards and The Reader.

Do We Care?: When done with panache, the sub-genre can deliver and we’re hearing that this played extremely well with auds at SXSW.
