Kød & Blod

Denmark’s Jeannette Nordahl makes her debut with crime thriller Kød & Blod (Wildland), headlined by esteemed actress Sidse Babett Knudsen (“Westworld,” The Duke of Burgundy, 2014). She’s joined by Elliott Crosset Hove (Best Actor from Locarno 2017 for Winter Brothers) and Carla Philip Roder (Queen of Hearts, 2019). Nordahl’s debut (which sort of looks like an Animal Kingdom-esque package) is produced by Eva Jakobsen (Thelma; Valhalla Rising), Mikkel Jersin (Thelma; The Untamed) and Katrin Pors (Thelma; Godless; Birds of Passage; The Untamed). The project is lensed by David Gallego (Embrace of the Serpent; Birds of Passage). Previously, Nordahl worked as an assistant director on two Department Q titles.

Gist: Written by Ingeborg Topsoe, a young woman moves in with her aunt and cousins following the death of her mother. Theirs is a home filled with happiness and love—but outside of the house, her extended family is a band of violent, ruthless criminals.

Release Date/Prediction: Before it’s March domestic release in Denmark, Wildland will premiere in the Panorama sidebar of the 2020 Berlin International Film Festival.
