2017 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Angus MacLachlan’s Abundant Acreage Available

City and small town folk colliding come full circle again as the writer of Junebug (Indie Spirits nominated Best First Screenplay) proposes a conflict of interest in another rural dwelling. Angus MacLachlan recently broke into directing with the Tribeca film fest preemed Goodbye to All That, and for his sophomore feature taps cinematographer Andrew Reed (Aaron Katz’s usual dp) for this land is your land and this land is my land saga when the past comes to surface. Featuring Amy Ryan, Abundant Acreage Available got a late executive producer support from the one and only, Martin Scorsese.

Gist: Set in a small tobacco farm in East Bend, North Carolina, following the death of the farm’s owner, his son and daughter must decide whether to continue in his footsteps. The mysterious arrival of three elderly brothers suggests some startling possibilities.
