2017 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: David Zellner’s Damsel

Published on

While the Safdie Bros. are likely en route to Cannes or Venice with the other Robert Pattinson vehicle Good Time, we’ll likely saddle up with Park City regulars set of other brothers with the Zellners presenting the Utah/Oregon shot Damsel. Employing cinematographer Adam Stone and production designer Scott Kuzio, and reuniting Maps to the Stars‘ Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska (who were attached to both play in Martin Koolhoven’s Brimstone), just like the set-up on Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter, David directs solo while the brothers share screenwriting cred. The festival has been especially thankful for their Zellner connection having also invited Goliath (2008) and Kid-Thing (2012) at the fest.

Gist: Written by the Zellner bros., this is about a businessman (Pattinson) travels West to join his fiancée in the mountains.

Production Co./Producers: Chris Ohlson and Nathan Zellner

Prediction: Prediction goes here

U.S. Distributor: Rights Available. TBD (domestic). TBD (international)
