2022 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: Quinn Shephard’s Not Okay

With already two decades worth of acting and a feature film under her belt, Quinn Shephard is taking the bull by the horns and hit her sophomore project this summer with the backing of the Searchlight folks. Filming on Not Okay with Zoey Deutch and Dylan O’Brien toplining took place in New York. In 2019, Shepard’s debut Blame received a Film Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best First Screenplay and the film premiered at Tribeca. Perhaps Park City or New York City will preem the film before heading off to HULU.

Gist: A misguided young woman (Deutch), desperate for friends and fame, fakes a trip to Paris to up her social media presence. When a terrifying incident takes place in the real world and becomes part of her imaginary trip, her white lie becomes a moral quandary that offers her all the attention she’s wanted.
