2013 Cannes Critics’ Panel Day 10: Gray’s The Immigrant

Handsome looking via the the talented Darius Khondji, high-end production value that some are mentioning as The Godfather Part II like, starring muse Joaquin Phoenix, Jeremy Renner and a Marion Cotillard who had to learn twenty pages of Polish, James Gray’s The Immigrant, a tale of 1920’s New York and American dream promises to those making the ultimate of sacrifices. You can read the reactions on the twittersphere – of all the filmmakers present in the Main Comp, we could say that body of work from Gray is appreciated by a cult-like clan, depending on who you ask, his filmography arguably contains gems and flaws.
