Italian helmer Laura Luchetti‘s coming-of-ager both pairs and juxtaposes the harshness and beauty of the backdrop with the realities of displacement, running towards and away from something and while I’m certain there could be comparisons made between Happy as Lazzaro and Honorable Mention for FIPRESCI Prize at this year’s TIFF for Twin Flower, this Discovery programme selection appears to be less allegorical.
