This year, along with Ugly, he is one of the co-directors of Bombay Talkies which screens in Cannes a a special tribute to India. His latest film seems to be torn from the headlines as the safety of young girls is thrust into the forefront. Designed as a thriller, this kidnapping tale may prove to be timely for audiences not only in India, but everywhere..

The Gist:Rahul and Shalini are the divorced parents of ten-year Kali. The little girl now lives with her mother and step-father, Shoumik, who runs a Mumbai police brigade. One Sunday, Kali is spending the day with her father when she disappea​rs.
