Man Push Fire Cart: HBO Book Ramin Bahrani for “Fahrenheit 451”

Moving from seizing homes (99 Homes) to burning them down, hopefully American indie filmmaker won’t have some of the woes that Francois Truffaut did when he took a swing at the Ray Bradbury classic, The Wrap reports that Ramin Bahrani will take on Fahrenheit 451 for HBO Films. What might become his sixth feature film since Man Push Cart, Bahrani will executive produce alongside Alan Gasmer and Peter Jaysen. Look for big name thesps to join the project.

Gist: Based on the 1953 classic, this follows Guy Montag, a fireman who begins to question his duty to destroy all books after meeting a young woman.

Worth Noting: Richard Brody gives some noteworthy insight into some of the headaches Truffaut experienced while making the film.

Do We Care?: A staple of dystopian portraits, we’re especially curious in how Bahrani might adapt the project in the current sociopolitical climate. Might be a murky, pessimist bliss. Let’s cross our fingers for Children of Men tone and style and perhaps a second collab with Michael Shannon.
