The Obvious Pair; Holm & Gillian Robespierre Prepare Divorce Proceedings at Oddlot

Published on

Among those crowned as the new indie queens at this year’s Sundance, writing/director Gillian Robespierre and writer/producer Elisabeth Holm will, according to TheWrap, be teaming once again on an untitled divorce comedy for OddLot Entertainment — the two film per year production company that really mixes up its focus (from the gender-friendly perfection in Drive to the tonally bizarre The Way Way Back to upcoming films such as Jon Stewart’s captured journalist drama Rosewater to search for gold Mortdecai.

Gist: Set in New York City, this follows the lives of three women.

Worth Noting: A24 will be releasing Robespierre’s debut, Obvious Child on June 6th.

Do We Care?: In our rundown of Sundance’s best new voice, our Caitlin Coder underlines that “however uncomfortable it may be praising Obvious Child for breaking new ground in 2014, the film does just that.” Perhaps this comedy will carry some of that same DNA.
