2012 Sundance Predictions: Eddie Alcazar’s 0000

The probability of Eddie Alcazar’s debut film NOT being accepted into Sundance, NOT winning the Alfred P. Sloan Prize (Sundance’s award for anything themed in science/technology) and NOT being selected by the Sitges-type fests is next to “zero”. Thanks to Twitchfilm’s Todd Brown, Filmmaker Magazine’s Jason Guerrasio and a sweet-looking trailers released midway in 2011, 0000 looks primed for a long year of showings on the festival circuit — our word to first time filmmaker: invest in some serious jet-setter luggage.

#01. 0000 – Eddie Alcazar

Profiled as one of Filmmaker Mag’s 25 New Faces of 2011 we know that the shot in 16mm feature comes from some who has a background in game designing, who worked for EA on Medal of Honor, who worked on some mega titles with his Alcazar Entertainment and then sold the farm to pursue this project. A sold out Park City at Midnight showing with a mix of fanboys and distributor heads in the crowd appears to be in the cards.

Gist: The mind of one man will galvanize a global revolution. His technology will birth a new era of human existence and social connection, but this great gift is rooted in dark tragedy. If he is to survive, he will need the help of many, and if we are to survive, our awareness must grow.

Producers: Alcazar, Jake Pokluda and John Ward
