Cannes Video Day 3: Cristi Puiu’s Aurora

Date:

Today marked the return of filmmaker Cristi Puiu – the Cannes Film Festival helped put his name and this national cinema of Romania on the map. Following in the footsteps of the multiple festival winning 2005’s The Death of Mr. Lazarescu, Aurora is from what I learned in the press book, not the second, but one 6 in a series by Puiu called Six Stories from the Outskirts of Bucharest. Puiu and the entire cast & crew were on hand to present the 181-minute film.
