2. THE BROTHERS BLOOM (Unreleased U.S. Poster)

Comments: The illustrated poster version of The Brothers Bloom that premiered on the film’s blog, and never made it to print, would have been the way to go. We can completely dismiss that poor excuse for a movie poster that was released since all it did was make the film look generic (see here). Here we have an image that brings to mind elements of the Raider’s of the Lost Ark poster, which to me says “adventure”, as well as featuring the cast and the film’s various locales, all surrounding its theme and slogan “A CON MAN MOVIE”. Not only do you get what you need, but it’s damn nice to look at, and as is the case with this kind of detailed poster, you want to keep looking at it. When in doubt, studios should always appeal first and foremost to the target audiences, those that might appreciate this poster are the ones that will make sure they see this film, and drag a friend or 2 along to see it. It’s a shame when great material like this gets completely tossed aside.
