Wang Bing’s Last ‘Ditch’ Effort for Cannes

Date:

Thanks to a reader for pointing us into the right, not totally information-filled direction on Wang Bing’s latest film. As I mentioned last week, Wang Bing was most probably getting ready for Cannes with a project that was going by the name of Hometown, but I may be two versions wrong with the name of the project as Wild Bunch’s slate is actually going by the title of The Ditch and was formerly known as Wind and Dust.

Co-produced by France, Belgium and Portugal, I’ll try and get more info on The Ditch sometime next month as it would be a market item and gunning for Venice, that is unless the picture is added to the Director’s Fortnight section (those announcements will be made next week). In the mean time, we have a first look at pics from the Wild Bunch site – clearly Bing is sticking to the landscapes he is most familiar with.
