No need in blaming her for our chewed up DVD copies of her only two feature films, we learnt that during this almost one full decade absence that she worked on and dropped Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones, but I think working from this novel might have been the better trade-off. I'm expecting three exquisite performances in this film, and if Lynne Ramsay places, tests Swinton in the same arduous manner she got the best from Samantha Morton in with Morvern Caller, then we could very well see the Palme d'or for Best Actress going to Swinton. We had this on the list last year in the #10 spot.

Could this be the face of a monster? If producers happen to have come across his emotionally-detached character in Antonio Campos' gem of a film Afterschool, then I think we might have found our Kevin in Lynne Ramsay's long waited film which begins lensing this month.

If you notice, the promo poster clearly indicates that there is still some casting work to do on Lynne Ramsey's We Need To Talk About Kevin. Clearly this is a showcase for Tilda, but before it starts lensing in Connecticut next April, there are a pair of "Kevins" to be cast, and the Culkin brothers are all grown up. There is the young boy version - a mean-spirited looking child to cast, a younger sister and finally the adolescent Kevin.

Besides the fact that its been almost a decade since we last visited with the filmmaker (Morvern Caller has had time to grow on me), I'm drawn to the intimate nature in which Ramsay chooses to explore both the prelude and the aftermath of death – plus you get the feeling that Swinton will be stellar in this one.
