SYNOPSIS
Written by Chen Kuofu and based on the book by Lin Qianyu, this is a fictional account of Di Renjie, one of the most celebrated officials of the Tang Dynasty. When the mysterious deaths of a series of loyal subjects threaten to delay the 690 A.D. inauguration of Empress Wu Zetian (Carina Lau), she summons the infamous Detective Dee (Andy Lau) back from exile into which she cast him eight years earlier.
