Who you gonna call...when you need some comic relief? If your name is Wes Anderson you need deadpan or someone to play the part of a badger you call upon Bill Murray. Jim Jarmusch called upon Murray again this year, but its Murray's calorie-adding supporting voice-work as a real-estate agent that made me refer to him separately from his co-stars in the number 5 spot. There really isn't much to say except Anderson and Murray are two peas in a pod.

When it comes to voice casting for animated features you either cast by name, cast by voice characteristics or then you have something like Jason Schwartzman's take on an insecure son who is seeking the approbation of his father. Perhaps its the air of familiarity of Wes Anderson employing someone from his fold which works wonders (this is Schwartzman's fourth film with Anderson not including Hotel Chevalier) but with comedy its all about timing - and the filmmaker and actor don't often miss their marks. Ditto goes for Owen Wilson and his Cal Ripken-esque status in Anderson's filmography.

With Andrea Arnold's brilliant sophomore feature coming out next week, IFC Films finally decided it was time to release the poster one sheet for Fish Tank. The image is taken from one the small batch of stills that were first introduced at Cannes, and after having seen the film, I would see the image in the context of a boxer training for the big fight.
Film Movement Hire Slovenian ‘Call Girl’
Film Movement are re-teaming with Slovenia helmer Damjan Kozole on a contemporary drama about the world's oldest profession. After including his 2003 short Spare Parts on one of their DVD releases, the company has picked up Kozole's "Slovenian Girl" - a title that received a North American debut at TIFF last September, and which will receive a second quarter release going by the title of A Call Girl.

Since 1996's La promesse, Jérémie Renier has become a whipping boy of sorts for the Dardenne brothers. With a stint in 2005's L'enfant (2005) where Renier appeared as a vagabond in need of a parenting course, the actor saw conditions get worse with Lorna's Silence (the pic received its world preem at Cannes in 2008, and eventually received a 2009 theatrical release). Here, he plays a supporting character - the victim of addiction and an arranged marriage that didn't help out his overall cause.
