Interview: Fabrice Du Welz – Inexorable

Published on

For his seventh feature film Belgian filmmaker Fabrice Du Welz returns to the family domicile to chaos and mayhem. While in his previous film (Adoration) the youths wanted out…here one person wants in…and badly. Once again employing the services of Benoît Poelvoorde — the spirit of Gloria is not too far behind in Inexorable with Alba Gaïa Bellugi (the fresh faced actress harkens back to silver screen scream queens from Euro cinema) as the menacing, taunting, somewhat deprived spirit on a multiple person war path. But what might be more horrifying here is how class systems and structures remain in place to protect special interests.

While the filmmaker was not in attendance, I had the chance to speak to the filmmaker fresh from my viewing on the big screen. We really look and function of the film plus dived into what will be his next project – which should be controversial to some degree.
