Interview: Wim Wenders – Submergence

Globe-trotting, geopolitics and civil war are the wedges that place romantic connections in flux. No stranger to the human condition or working in a multitude of scapes, Wim Wenders‘ latest the book to film adaptation in the TIFF-preemed Submergence (released this month via the Samuel Goldwyn Films folks) curiously precedes next month’s Cannes premiere of Pope Francis – A Man of His Word. Moving into his fifth decade in filmmaking, Amir got to speak to Wenders who is refreshingly honest and unflinchingly of where his interests lie and is convinced of how to best work with the material at hand.
