But as her family drama awaits US distribution, she’s already filmed her third feature, Nelly, a film inspired by the life of famed prostitute turned novelist Nelly Arcan, who committed suicide in 2009. Emond states the film is not a biopic, and will feature five characters based on facets of Arcan’s personality.

Release Date: We’re looking forward to Emond’s latest, which sounds like a thrillingly unconventional portrait of a provocative artist. Both of her features played at TIFF, so this may be a prime candidate for their new Platform program.
