Snowballing from a celebrated ’16 award-winning short film (Thunder Road) into a SXSW-winning, John Cassavetes Award nominated and critically acclaim feature debut (here is our sit-down with him), true to form, Jim Cummings is quickly moving onto his sophomore project, a currently untitled werewolf horror film that was conceived more or less around the same juncture as Thunder Road (trailer). Looking to shoot sometime this month in the state of Utah, producer Natalie Metzger (Sundance selected Greener Grass) will assure the continuation of one of the best grassroots American indie stories of ’18. Release Date/Prediction: If we base ourselves on the expediency of his debut feature (production to world premiere in less than half a year), then Cummings will likely to wait until 2020 for a world premiere showing. Locarno could be part of the equation, but this sophomore film might be best suited for the Lido and one of Venice’s sidebars in the Venice Days or Critics’ Week or even the Orizzonti section.
