Published on

Could filmmaker slash actor Josh Ruben become part of a rare and select club of filmmakers who make it in back to back years at Sundance? It’s not impossible as production on his sophomore feature began this past February. Ruben was part of the Midnight section in 2020 with Scare Me (read our review) and here is works with virtual reality video game by Ubisoft and adapted by screenwriter Mishna Wolff (we’re big fans of her memoir I’m Down memoir). This horror comedy features Sam Richardson and Michael Chernus.

Gist: Based on the fantasy video game, this is set in a fictitious medieval town where a werewolf is attacking the townspeople. In a Mafia-style format, the players of the game must guess who among them is the werewolf in disguise.

Production Co./Producers: Ubisoft Film & Television’s Margaret Boykin, Andrew Lieberman, Vanishing Angle’s Natalie Metzger, Matt Miller, Benjamin Wiessner.

Prediction: Midnight.

U.S. Distributor: Rights Available.
