2019 Sundance Film Festival Predictions: #45. Jennifer Reeder – Knives and Skin

Published on

An artist and film fest circuit habitual, filmmaker Jennifer Reeder‘s looks to be moving out of the short film sphere (the Sundance selected 2014 short A Million Miles Away is just one in a long resume) and comfortably into Knives and Skin. Recently selected as one of the four US in Progress projects in Wroclaw, Reeder has been “hacking” away at this moody ensemble piece for a while now. A major film fest showing is in the cards.

Gist: This is a mystical teen noir that follows a young girl’s disappearance in the rural Midwest and its effect on teens and parents.

Production Co./Producers: Brian and Jan Hieggelke

Prediction: Midnight section with a showing at Rotterdam or Berlin.

U.S. Distributor: Rights Available. TBD (domestic). TBD (international).
