Myrsini Aristidou, Visar Morina and Suzanne Andrews Correa are among the ten filmmakers selected for World Cinema Dramatic Competition. Cyprus born filmmaker Myrsini Aristidou has been workshopping her feature debut for some time now (she was selected for Sundance in 2018 with her short film so she has a history in Park City) including seeing Hold Onto Me being selected for the Cannes Cinéfondation Residence. Visar Morina broke out big with 2020’s Exile, and has been working on Shame and Money (aka Hatixhe and Shaban) for some time now. He looks at how livelihood in a village gets stripped from a Kosovar family who are forced to move to the capital in pursuit of a place in a hypercapitalist society. This will likely be selected for the Berlinale as well. We had the chance to speak to Suzanne Andrews Correa back in 2018 when The Huntress was part of the Sundance labs. She landed Adriana Paz (Emilia Pérez fame) for her debut The Huntress. Here are the ten selections:
