Sandi Tan‘s first (or second pending how categorize them) feature film is truly a masterclass in reappraising and reappropriating your own creative work arch. Bending the non-fiction rules with an essay-like investigative template, Shirkers is an unearthed post-card to Singapore and one of a kind deep reflection on memory and….selective memory. The docu was picked up by the Netflix folks and will work the docu-fest circuit. Here is one of the premieres (mythic Egyptian theatre) of the film at Sundance.
