Diane Kruger will be pursuing a very different kind of hunt in her next project. The former fashion model turned actress is best known for her recurring role as Abigail Chase, a museum curator who gets caught in the middle of Nicolas Cage‘s hunt for ‘National Treasure.’ According to THR, Kruger will be starring alongside Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding) in the thriller Run for Her Life, directed by Icelandic helmer Baltasar Kormakur. Kormakur is responsible for the thriller A Little Trip to Heaven, featuring Forest Whitaker and Jeremy Renner, and the Icelandic crime-drame Jar City. For his next project, Kruger and Mulroney will play parents who venture into the dangerous Mexican black market of organ harvesting, in search of a lung transplant for their ailing young daughter. The couple soon faces a disturbing moral dilemma; having to choose between the lives of hundreds of children who serve as unwilling donors or the chance to safe their daughter’s life.
The pic will be produced by Nathalie Marciano and Michelle Chydzik of 26 Films, the production company responsible for upcoming comedy My Life in Ruins, and Jennifer Kelly. ‘Run’ began shooting in New Mexico in April and set for release in 2009.
Kruger will appear alongside Rhys Ifans and Jared Leto in the sci-fi/romantic drama Mr. Nobody which tells the story of one man who wakes up in the year 2092 at the age of 120, in world where human mortality has become extinct and he is the only surviving “true” human.
