Orange of the Week: Josh Brolin

Date:

Orangey Goodness:

Is Josh Brolin, progeny of James Brolin, finding his stride
at 40? Probably tired of having his career idling in the center lane
for the past decade, Brolin stepped it up in ’07 first with two cop
roles in Tarantino’s Grindhouse and alongside Tommy Lee Jones in In the Valley of
Elah
. Then, in the spectacular cat-and-mouse thriller No Country for Old Men ,
he tackled a rough-around-the-edges cowboy harnessed with someone
else’s loot…which is fortunate enough, until the horribly coiffed
assasin (Javier Bardem) hunts him down. Brolin’s rugged looks set him apart from pretty-boy Hollywood types and probably made him Oliver Stone’s number one choice to play the title role of Commander-In-Chief in this year’s biopic W.. and plays another bad guy role in Van Sant’s Milk. Known before for being choosy with his films, Brolin can now get the best cuts…instead of scraping the bottom of the barrel.
