The Life Before Her Eyes: Teaser Trailer

Date:

One of the films that I missed in Toronto Film Festival last September due to an over-consumption of movie-watching was Vadim Perelman book to screen adaptation of Laura Kasischke novel. A real shame since I loved his directorial debut House of Sand and Fog. Formerly titled “In Bloom”, The Life Before Her Eyes is based on the best-selling novel by Laura Kasischke and written by Emil Stern, a suburban wife and mother (Thurman) begins to question her seemingly perfect life–and perhaps her sanity–on the 15th anniversary of a tragic high school shooting that took the life of her best friend. In flashbacks, Diana is a vibrant high schooler (Rachel Wood) who, with her shy best friend Maureen, plot typical teenage strategies–cutting class, fantasizing about boys–and vow to leave their sleepy suburb at the first opportunity.

Magnolia Pictures releases the dramatic thriller on the 18th of April. Here is the teaser trailer below.

Interview: Marjane Satrapi & Vincent Paronnaud – Persepolis

The thrill of meeting Marjane Satrapi reminded me of being 6 years old at Disney Land when I met the living, breathing Cinderella. Except Cinderella was an actress with a blond wig and Marjane is the real woman behind her autobiographical graphic novel, turned movie, “Persepolis”. The distinctive mole on her nose and her dark sultry eyes rose off the page and appeared in front of me, smoking and speaking with a French accent.
