The Gist: Based on a portion of the storyline and characters found in Considine’s short film Dog Altogether, this tells the story of Joseph (Peter Mullan), a man who is plagued by a violence and rage that is driving him to self destruction. As he falls further into turmoil Joseph scours the landscape in search of a single grain of redemption that might restore hope to his fractured life. Cast: Eddie Marsan, Peter Mullan and Olivia Colman

List Worthy Reasons…I’m really looking forward to this film namely because of the actor who is directing it, the director of photography who lensed it and the actor who has center stage. In my books, Paddy Considine is an under-appreciated actor and I think his best work when in front of the camera are the shady, darker areas of the human condition and I think his curriculum as a filmmaker will certainly swerve towards these portraits. Dp Erik Wilson did some great lensing with Submarine and I imagine is where he might with Considine and then you have Peter Mullan – I can’t say enough about him since I took first notice in Danny Boyle’s first two films.

Release Date/Status?: Sundance world preem followed what should be a festival pick-up, release in the U.K and then followed by a domestic release here.
