Wealth of talent added to Scorsese’s Shutter Island

Date:

It’s too bad the Academy awards don’t have an ensemble acting award especially when you see the talent that Paramount is mounting on Scorsese’s next film. If Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams and Patricia Clarkson weren’t enough, Shutter Island will also see legendary actor Max von Sydow, the comeback kid Jackie Earle Haley and the always solid and sensitive-looking Emily Mortimer. The Hollywood Reporter reports that Von Sydow will play one of the hospital’s physicians, while Mortimer
will play Rachel, an escaped hospital patient. Haley will play an
inmate.

Production is set to begin March 6, and they’ve funded the project by selling off rights to several major European territories.
