I didn't get the chance to see the doc William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe in Park City this year, but I had the impression that it would touch upon some of the qualities found in Barbet Schroeder's Terror's Advocate – a behind a scenes look into a controversial lawyer in his own right: Mr. Jacques Vergès. That is where the comparisons probably end --- as this docu was made by Kunstler's own kin.

Padilha had a bit more luck with his Berlin International Film Festival winning Elite Squad -- Hollywood came rushing in fairly quickly -- WB threw A Willing Patriot at him and Plan B wants him on board for a project titled Marching Powder. If Padilha chooses to go with a Robert Ludlum book to film project first, he almost assures himself a fair chance at a bright future.
It would be nice to wake up next to Sophie Barthes. She’s beautiful, intelligent, talented and just so happens to be a morning person. To rise and shine with the Sundance lab alum is to bear witness to her early morning writing ritual. Ms. Barthes, who is currently in pre-production with her first feature film Cold Souls
Abdellatif Kechiche’s third film had such on long-lasting affect on me that I came for a second “helping” weeks after….I also rushed to my nearest Arab restaurant for a generous helping of couscous. I place this at my number one slot because it does everything right – plus the filmmaker allows the film to breath with contextual settings of a salty seaside town and the rich array of slice of life characters coating the rather simplistic storyline with honesty and intimacy.
