Selected Director Filmography

Erick Zonca lived in the United States for a number of years before working as assistant director and making various magazine-style shows and dramas for television. His many short films have been highly favored at film festivals, including "Eternelle," which won the Grand Prize at the 1995 Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival and "Alone," which was nominated for a Cesar Award. Zonca shot his first feature film, "The Dreamlife of Angels," in 1997. It was presented at the 1998 Cannes International Film Festival, where its two leads, Elodie Bouchez and Natacha Régnier, jointly won the Best Actress Award. The film then went on to win Cesar Awards for Best Film, Best Actress for Elodie Bouchez and Most Promising Young Actress for Natacha Régnier. The same year, Zonca made "The Little Thief," one of the episodes of "Left-Right," a series commissioned by the Arte channel. He also co-authored the first feature by his "artistic collaborator," Virginie Wagon, "Le Secret," released in France in 2000.
