Interview: Chloe Sarbib – Trou Normand / 2025 Sundance Screenwriters Lab Fellow

Date:

We had the chance to speak to a small sampling of this year’s Sundance Screenwriters Lab Fellows and among them we found Chloe Sarbib, an American-French-Algerian filmmaker current professor at Montclair State University (previously taught at Columbia) and who comes to the lab with Trou Normand. We discussed how her background might have help with different entry points in this project, some of the film references and influences connected to the project and what we can expect for the look of the film.

Sundance project synopsis: When a middle-aged actress becomes obsessed with digging up a lost Vichy-era heirloom, she unearths something rotten in her family — and in herself.
