Doesn’t look like Shana Feste will wait to do the promo tour for her debut film before moving onto her next project. Production Weekly reports (tweets) that she’ll next direct a drama, a Nashville shoot called Love Don’t Let Me Down. More details to follow.
As someone who saw Feste’s The Greatest (Carey Mulligan, Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon) at Sundance, I’d be one to tell you its reminscent of early 80’s films in the vein of Ordinary People. If you ask me, Redford’s film has aged horribly, and with the same tone, Feste first film is a tad too sappy for my likes. Unfortunately I won’t get the opportunity to argue the merits of the film since it was picked up Marco Weber’s Senator Ent. which is an indie distributor that bit the dust with a slate of unreleased films. Actually if anyone out there knows what will happen with the slate of Senator films let us know.
