Overture Films are attaching Six Feet Under, Sex and the City, 30 Rock director Michael Engler (a nominee for the Directors Guild of America Award and Emmy Award for Outstanding Direction) to A Little Something For Your Birthday – a comedy that is set up by Anonymous Content. THR reports that Steve Golin and Alix Madigan of Anonymous are attached to produce. Jennifer Levine, who manages scribe Susan Walter, is an exec producer.
Walter’s screenplay (a four-vote mention on 08’s Black List) is about a clothing designer struggling her way into her 30s. I haven’t read the screenplay, but I’m imagining something in the realm of Devil Wear Prada – a young woman protag, trying to break into a cut-throat world known as the garment industry.
