If Criterion is thinking of releasing the Maysles Brothers’ 1975 documentary on Blu-Ray then I’d try and come out with a release soon after HBO preems this version. This uses the documentary film as a framework and further exploration into the Beales (portrayed here by Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange) commences by taking several steps back examining the “riches” portions of the riches-to-rags denouement. The film is scheduled for Saturday April 18th at 8:00p.m.
