Screen Media to spread Lymelife in Spring of 2009

Date:

Indie featherweight distributor Screen Media Films have picked up what will surely become their prestige title for the 09 calendar year. Today the company announced that they have snapped up the rights to the film that was awarded the International Critics Prize for Discovery award at last month’s edition of TIFF. Sadly it was a project that I’m looking forward to seeing and missed the screenings that took place in Toronto, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see it gain a second showing in Sundance next January, before its launch sometime in the Spring.

Directed by Derick Martini and co-written with his brother, this is set in 1970’s Long Island, Lymelife revolves around a 15-year-old and his family whose life is turned upside-down after an outbreak of Lyme disease hits their suburban community, spreading illness and paranoia.
