Today, TF1 International is showing 20 minutes of Spike Lee’s Action War film starring Derek Luke, John Turturro, Laz Alonso and Omar Benson Miller. This is about a murder in contemporary New York sends a young journalist on the trail of a Black American squad fighting in Italy during WW II. As the war rages on, the “Buffalo Soldiers” are abandoned behind German enemy lines by their officers and hide out in a remote Italian village. They save the life of a young boy, Angelo. The boy’s innocence and courage provides a beacon of hope that inspires them all. Surrounded by German camps, the American soldiers become involved in the lives of the Italian villagers. The locals help them plot their return to headquarters and embrace them in a way they never experienced in their segregationist home country.
