Falling into a talkie kind of screenplay, Atom Egoyan’s Adoration is by far his best work since The Sweet Hereafter. This is about goring out the truth, in an internet age where make-believe is second nature and exaggeration is common place. Here the storyline is sliced into pieces that look at the flow of information, looks at culture differences and how it can fuel a hatred so violent that it becomes unknowingly embedded in others. The French critics aren’t chumming up to this number, with coincidences conventionally placed within the strategic script where revelations in the finally stanza make this flashback exercise all the more fun.
