Interview: Jacob Tremblay, Brad Schiff, Rachelle Lambden & Tom Carey – Wildwood

Date:

Among the press and public activities at this year’s TIFF, the Laika studio folks set up shop (cosmically presented at the Portland Square Gallery) in Toronto offering a first glimpse with an exhibition promoting the release of animated stop-motion feature film marvel Wildwood. Making the trip we found Jacob Tremblay who voices the character of Curtis; Brad Schiff – LAIKA’s Head of Animation, Lead Animator Rachelle Lambden and Stop-Motion Animator Tom Carey. In a roundtable audio interview, we looked back at the highlights and lessons learned over the past half-dozen years of work on the project, leading up to the eventual release of Travis Knight’s Wildwood which begins with the world premiere launch on October 11th at the 70th BFI London Film Festival followed with the theatrical release on October 23rd via Fathom Entertainment in the U.S. I highly encourage to whet your tastebuds at LAIKA studios’ Youtube channel which offers a fascinating deep dive into the creative process. Here is our fun sit down:
