Top 100 Most Anticipated Films of 2008: #87 Crossing Over

Date:

Crossing Over Wayne Kramer

#87.Crossing Over

Director/Writer
: Wayne Kramer
Producers
: Kramer, Frank Marshall (The Bourne Ultimatum)
Distributor: The Weinstein Company

The Gist: Written by Kramer, this examines illegal immigrants the way that Traffic did the illegal drug trade, with intersecting storylines threaded through the film. Ford plays an enforcement agent who stages raids designed to corral illegals, while Liotta plays a USCIS district adjudicator, a bureaucrat dealing with the problems of illegals.

Fact: In 1996 Kramer made a short film by the same name: highly likely that this is the feature film version of what that was.

See It: Harrison Ford and Sean Penn under the same marquee? Not only curious about that pairing but also how Kramer can deliver just like he did with The Cooler.

Release Date/Status?: Look for The Weinstein Company to find a summer tentpole strategy for this one – most likely after the Indiana Jones craze.
