#86.Rudo y Cursi

Director/Writer: Carlos Cuarón
Producer/Production Company: Cha Cha Cha  (Alfonso Cuarón, Carlos Cuarón, Alejandro González Iñárritu, David Linde,  Guillermo del Toro and Frida Torresblanco)
Distributor: Focus Features

The Gist: The on-screen reunion between Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna is a tale of love and hate between professional soccer-playing brothers.

Fact: Carlos Cuarón’s sophomore project is one of the 5 projects signed under a deal between Cha Cha Cha (Mexican filmmakers Alfonso Cuarón,  Iñárritu and del Toro) and Universal pictures.

See It: The ‘less famous’ brother of Alfonso Cuarón was actually the co-screenwriter of Y tu mamá también.

Release Date/Status?: Now in post-production, Focus Features will first figure out a festival strategy and then a limited release schedule.
