HBO captures hot Park City Polanski docu title

Date:

Marina Zenovich couldn’t have chosen a more apropos docu title for her Polanski project. “Wanted and Desired” is perhaps how this film felt like on the Park City market place. In a space of 48 hours, her doc has been baited twice, first for world rights…and now, HBO Films have picked up what the Weinsteins didn’t: domestic (North American) rights.

Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired examines the public scandal and private tragedy which led to legendary director Roman Polanski’s sudden flight from the United States. Zenovich first got interested in the director when it was highlighted and underlined that he would not be able to enter the U.S. for Oscar night back in the day when he was nominated for an Oscar for his film The Pianist.”I wanted to explore the case itself and what happens when the media and public opinion enter the courtroom.“

It remains unclear yet if anyone will ever tackle the Soon-Yi and Woody Allen thing.
