Like adding a stamp of instant credibility to a production, Variety reports that Sidney Kimmel Entertainment have added thesp Patricia Clarkson
for the upcoming November shoot of Lars And The Real Girl. The one time top 3 script not produced in Hollywood will be distributed by MGM and produced by Sidney Kimmel, John Cameron and Sarah Aubrey.

Starring comfort food for the ladies star (and possible upcoming “Half Nelson” Oscar nominee) Ryan Gosling and Emily Mortimer, this is based on the script by Nancy Oliver (feature film writing debut), this tells the offbeat story of Lars (Gosling), a lonely, delusional young man whose life changes dramatically when an Internet friend comes to visit. The beautiful, religious missionary is in fact an inanimate replica of a woman. Craig Gillesppie will direct.

Who says Hollywood is for the young? We’ll be able to catch the 47 year-old Clarkson in a slew of film projects for the 07 calendar. She has Mostly Martha remake No Reservations, Ira Sachs must see film noir-ish tale Marriage and the Stanley Tucci directed remake of the Theo Van Gogh film Blind Date which should normally preem at Sundance.
